Baby blankets and neck warmers

Neck warmers? Who knits those in the spring/summer? Apparently I do. There is a craft fair in August that I’m dying to participate in, Craftin’ Outlaws. This is year four and I’ve been to the last two. How awesome would it be to have a table to sell my hand knits? So that is my new focus, knitting away on prototypes so that I can apply in the next two weeks and hopefully be accepted. If all goes well I’ll be involved in August. Of course with how hot August is we’ll see how well I do. Better get to designing business cards to give away too since it’s likely that if people want to buy they’ll wait until it’s cooler. Regardless, this could be a very fun experience. I have to neck warmers done, I’m working on a third and I have a shrug type thing ready to go too. More knitting!

I’m 95% done with the baby blanket mentioned in the last post. Pictures soon. It is for my best friend who was due July 12. Not that I said “was”. She gave birth yesterday, just a wee bit early. Fortunately he came out 4lbs, pink and screaming his head off. He’ll be in NICU for the next 4 – 6 weeks, but they expect him to do well. Good thing the blanket is almost done!

I’ve also decided to buy a Blythe doll. I’ve been looking at them off and on for awhile, but not bitten the bullet. I know they creep a lot of people out with their large head/eyes. That’s probably why I like them 🙂 I also can’t wait to knit mini clothes! I’ve seen some awesome patterns. *excited!*

The little one is sleeping soundly so I’m off to knit while I can. I promise pictures soon. And more updates. Time is a slightly more available now that Caitlin is almost 4 months.

  1. A warm neck is a happy neck 🙂

Yes, yes, get a Blythe doll mine’s a French Trench and I’d also recommend the photo book ‘Blythe Style’. Although I too was full of enthusiasm to date she only has the one garment, a winter coat. Perhaps I’ll knit her a bikini for Summer ….
